St. Louis Blues Forward Dylan Holloway Injured, Taken Off Ice on Stretcher

St. Louis Blues forward Dylan Holloway suffered a scary injury during Tuesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Late in the first period, Holloway was struck by a puck in the neck area, causing concern among his teammates and fans in attendance.

Despite being hit by the puck, Holloway managed to finish his shift and participate in the play before skating to the bench under his own power. However, as play was stopped for a high-sticking penalty, Holloway’s teammates quickly realized the severity of the situation and called for medical assistance.

Blues trainer Ray Barile and medical staff from both teams attended to Holloway for several minutes before emergency medical technicians arrived to cart him off the bench on a stretcher. Throughout the ordeal, Holloway remained conscious and even raised his arm as he was being transported off the ice.

After the incident, the Blues announced that Holloway was alert and stable. He was quickly taken to a St. Louis area hospital for further evaluation and observation. The entire team was understandably shaken by the incident, with coach Drew Bannister describing Holloway as a family member and emphasizing the group’s mental fortitude in pushing through the difficult situation.

Referees Wes McCauley and Cody Beach made the decision to send both teams to their locker rooms and start the first intermission early following Holloway’s injury. The Blues captain, Brayden Schenn, acknowledged the emotional toll of the incident but praised the team for regrouping and ultimately rallying to a 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay.
