‘Kim’s Convenience’ to return to Toronto stage
“Kim’s Convenience” Play Returns to Toronto’s Soulpepper Theatre
After nearly 15 years since its debut, “Kim’s Convenience” is set to return to the stage at Toronto’s Soulpepper Theatre at the end of January. The play, which inspired the popular CBC TV series, follows the story of a family running a convenience store facing gentrification.
The play’s creator, Ins Choi, will reprise his role as Appa, the patriarch of the family. Choi originally portrayed Jung, Appa’s estranged son, when he first introduced the show at the Toronto Fringe Festival in 2011. Most recently, Choi portrayed Appa during a successful run on London’s West End earlier this year.
Scheduled to run from January 30 to March 2 at Soulpepper’s Baillie Theatre, tickets for “Kim’s Convenience” are now available for purchase. Additionally, Soulpepper has announced plans for a North American tour, with dates already set for San Francisco’s American Conservatory in the fall.
Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the beloved stage production that started it all. Get your tickets now to witness the heartwarming and humorous tale of the Kim family’s struggles and triumphs in the face of change.
