Man burned to death on NYC subway train

Police in Brooklyn, New York are on the hunt for a suspect after a shocking and tragic incident left a woman dead on a subway train. The horrifying crime took place at the Stillwell Avenue Subway station in Coney Island at around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the victim, who was sleeping on a stationary “F” train, was approached by an unknown man who set her on fire before fleeing the scene. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Disturbing video footage circulating online shows the woman engulfed in flames while standing in the train, with a man fitting the suspect’s description sitting on a bench outside the train, watching as the woman burns.

The suspect is described as a man standing 5’6 tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and aged between 25 to 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a dark beanie with a red band, and brown boots.

The NYPD Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information related to the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers.
