Trump signs dozens of executive orders, fulfilling many but not all campaign promises

President Trump wasted no time flexing his presidential powers as he took office for his second term, fulfilling many of the major pledges he made on the campaign trail. In a historic move, the 47th president signed a series of executive orders aimed at restoring America and implementing commonsense policies.
During his inauguration address at the U.S. Capitol, Trump promised to take immediate action to address key issues facing the nation. Hours later, he followed through on his promises, signing a flurry of executive orders in front of thousands of supporters at Washington’s Capitol One Arena, and later in the traditional Oval Office setting at the White House.
One of Trump’s central campaign promises was to overhaul the nation’s immigration system. True to his word, he wasted no time in declaring a national emergency along the southern border with Mexico and ordering the deployment of U.S. troops to support immigration agents. He also reinstated his controversial “remain in Mexico” policy for asylum seekers and directed the resumption of border wall construction.
In addition, President Trump signed an order ending birthright citizenship for children of illegal migrants, a move that is likely to face legal challenges. He also announced the designation of cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and vowed to eliminate the presence of foreign gangs and criminal networks in the country.
Another key focus for Trump was energy policy. He signed executive orders aimed at reducing inflation by drilling for oil and gas resources within the country, emphasizing the need for America to become a manufacturing nation once again.
On the social front, Trump took action to defend biological truth by officially declaring that there are only two genders, male and female. He also terminated diversity, equity, and inclusion programs within the federal government.
In a surprising move, President Trump pardoned around 1,500 individuals, including some convicted of attacking police officers during the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. He defended his decision, stating that these individuals had been unfairly treated and deserved a second chance.
Trump also made symbolic changes, such as renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and restoring the name of Mount McKinley to Mount Denali.
While President Trump made significant progress on his campaign promises, he did not fulfill all of them on his first day in office. One of the most notable unmet pledges was his promise to end the war between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours of taking office.
Overall, President Trump’s swift and decisive actions on his first day in office demonstrated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and bringing about significant changes for the American people. His bold and assertive leadership style set the tone for his second term in office, leaving a lasting impact on the nation.
