Charles Barkley places blame on politicians for ‘making us fight with each other’

Divisiveness in America is a prevalent issue that seems to be escalating day by day. NBA legend Charles Barkley recently voiced his concerns about the state of the nation and placed the blame squarely on politicians for fueling this divide.

During a discussion on his show “Inside the NBA” on Martin Luther King Day, Barkley, along with his co-hosts Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny “The Jet” Smith, delved into the significance of the day. It was also a day that coincided with President Donald Trump’s inauguration, adding more weight to their conversation.

Barkley didn’t hold back as he expressed his disappointment in the current political landscape. “I wish that people were smarter, personally,” he began. “I think these politicians – both parties – I think both parties suck. But I think they do a really good job of making us not like each other.”

The former CNN host went on to paint a grim picture of what America has become in his eyes. “Racism exists, always has, always will, unfortunately. It’s a disaster. But what America has become is rich people against poor people,” Barkley asserted. He emphasized that politicians have successfully managed to pit Americans against each other, diverting attention from the real issue – the growing gap between the wealthy and the less fortunate.

Barkley’s criticism wasn’t limited to one side of the political spectrum. He made it clear that he doesn’t align himself with any particular team. “These politicians have screwed up our world, making you pick a team,” he added. “And that’s unfortunate because I’m not for anybody’s team. I’m for everybody’s team.”

This isn’t the first time Barkley has spoken out about the shortcomings of politicians. In a podcast with his “NBA on TNT” co-host Ernie Johnson, he criticized both Democrats and Republicans for their failures. He pointed out their inability to address key issues like immigration and inflation, blaming their lack of foresight for their electoral losses.

In the midst of all the political chaos, Barkley called for unity and a focus on solutions. “It’s all our faults for not having a game plan. We’re not having concerts and rallies. People want solutions, they want money in their pocket, they want the border secure,” he asserted.

Charles Barkley’s bold statements serve as a wake-up call for Americans to look beyond political divides and come together for the greater good. As the nation grapples with increasing polarization, his words echo a sentiment of hope for a more united future.
