ICE arrests under President Trump continue in migrant ‘sanctuary’ cities

President Donald Trump’s administration is continuing its crackdown on illegal immigration with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials making a series of criminal arrests in left-leaning “sanctuary” cities across the country. This includes Philadelphia, Boston, Denver, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.
In Philadelphia, ICE agents conducted a worksite enforcement operation at a car wash in North Philadelphia, resulting in the arrest of seven illegal immigrants from Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The operation was prompted by reports of labor exploitation at the car wash. Additionally, ICE Philadelphia arrested Luis Gualdron-Gualdron, a suspected member of the Venezuelan migrant gang Tren de Aragua with a criminal record including indecent assault and harassment. ICE also removed a Mexican illegal immigrant wanted for rape and a Dominican national wanted for homicide.
Boston, known for its strong sanctuary policies, has also seen a series of arrests by ICE. Salvadoran national Jose Garcia-Salmeron was charged with raping a Massachusetts resident, but was released despite an ICE detainer. Other arrests include Haitian national Jean Yves Ovilme for assault and battery, Cesar Augusto Polanco convicted of murder, and Guatemalan MS-13 gang member Luis Adolfo Guerra-Perez for drug and weapons crimes.
In Washington, D.C., ICE arrested Salvadoran illegal alien Nicolas Alberto Hernandez-Lopez for sexually assaulting a Virginia resident. Hernandez-Lopez had been previously removed from the country in 2023 but reentered unlawfully. ICE Washington, D.C., is committed to arresting public safety threats and removing egregious alien offenders.
Denver, a city with a Democratic mayor opposed to Trump’s immigration policies, also saw several criminal arrests by ICE. Mexican national Luz Maria Ramirez-Monreal was charged with child abuse, burglary, strangulation, and kidnapping. Juan Benitez-Ortega, also Mexican, was charged with felony assault and kidnapping. Another Mexican national, Luis Fernando Melendez-Rivera, was arrested for aggravated homicide in Mexico after entering the country through Denver International Airport in 2022.
In Seattle, ICE officials arrested four criminal illegal aliens charged with crimes related to sexual assault. These include Pedro Garcia-Lopez from Mexico charged with theft and lewd acts with a child, Rubi Jeronimo Cruz from Guatemala convicted of DUI and charged with child rape, Manuel De Jesus Zavala-Martinez from El Salvador with assault convictions, and Jaspal Singh from India charged with assault with sexual motivation.
These arrests highlight the ongoing efforts by ICE to enforce immigration laws and protect communities from criminal threats. The agency remains committed to its mission of ensuring public safety and removing dangerous individuals from the country.
