Operation ‘Take Back America’ results in over 80 illegal alien arrests

Federal enforcement authorities, including agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE), recently conducted a targeted enforcement effort in Kentucky, arresting a total of 81 illegal aliens in just five days. This operation, dubbed “Operation Take Back America,” aimed to crack down on illegal immigration and eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations.
Out of the 81 individuals arrested, 25 are facing criminal charges, including offenses such as sexual misconduct with a minor, drug trafficking, and domestic violence. One disturbing case involved an illegal alien who had been deported, excluded, removed, or denied admission to the United States seven times.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that the arrests were part of a joint federal law enforcement operation in Kentucky, with multiple federal agencies working together to combat illegal immigration. Operation Take Back America is a nationwide initiative that focuses on enhancing security and protecting communities from violent crime.
The arrests were coordinated out of Louisville, with U.S. Attorney Michael Bennett commending the efforts of federal law enforcement partners. He emphasized the positive impact of cracking down on immigration violations on the security of communities and the nation as a whole.
Several of the individuals arrested had illegally re-entered the country after being deported, highlighting the challenges faced by law enforcement in enforcing immigration laws. One such case involved a Mexican national, Humberto Avila-Duran, who was found in possession of a firearm illegally despite multiple deportations and removals from the United States.
Another individual, Edi Diaz-Lopez, a Mexican citizen, was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and illegal possession of a firearm. The DHS reported that Diaz-Lopez faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
Additionally, a 44-year-old Indian national was arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor, intimidation, and battery. These cases underscore the importance of removing individuals who pose a threat to public safety and national security from communities.
ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Chicago Field Office Director Sam Olson emphasized the commitment of law enforcement to ensuring public safety and removing criminal offenders. He expressed gratitude for the collaboration of federal partners in Kentucky and highlighted the complexity of operations that lead to the arrest and detention of alien offenders.
Overall, the arrests made as part of Operation Take Back America demonstrate the dedication of federal authorities to enforcing immigration laws and protecting communities from criminal elements. The crackdown on illegal immigration continues to be a top priority for the Trump administration, with over 32,000 illegal immigrants arrested since President Trump returned to the White House.
