B.C. man discovers 115 stuffed animals hidden behind wall
Uncovering a Surprising Discovery During a Home Renovation in Saanich, B.C.
As Connor Nijsse embarked on a garage renovation project, little did he know that he would stumble upon a truly bizarre find.
“I found some mould at one point,” Connor recalls. But what he found next was even more unexpected.
Instead of insulation, Connor uncovered a hidden stash of stuffed animals behind the drywall.
“You can’t wrap your head around it,” Connor remarks. “This is weird.”
With his wife Brianne Hinkkuri capturing the moment on camera, the couple was astonished to find the entire wall filled with stuffed animals, from floor to ceiling.
The video of their discovery quickly went viral on TikTok, attracting millions of views and sparking curiosity among viewers.
A Heartwarming Reunion
Among the viewers was Angela McNellan, who recognized one of the stuffed animals as her beloved Fluffy Ducky Buddy from childhood.
Angela shared how she had lost her cherished toy as a child and had always longed to find it again.
Touched by Angela’s story, Connor and Brianne decided to send not just one, but two fluffy ducks to Angela in Ontario, so her daughters could also experience the joy of the beloved toy.
Spreading Joy Across Borders
Inspired by the positive impact of their gesture, Connor has made it his mission to get more of the recovered stuffed animals adopted by families.
“If you can make a difference, why not?” Connor says, reflecting on the joy these forgotten toys can bring to others.
The outreach has extended beyond Canada, with stuffed animals finding new homes in the U.S. and the UK.
A Symbol of Kindness
For Angela, receiving the duo of donated ducks symbolizes the Canadian spirit of generosity and kindness.
“It’s spreading joy to so many families,” Angela expresses, grateful for the unexpected reunion with her childhood toy.
After years of being hidden away, these stuffed animals are now fulfilling their purpose of bringing comfort and happiness to children once again.
