Baby car seats recall for harness issue

Nuna Baby Essentials Recalls Over 600,000 Child Car Seats Due to Safety Concerns
Nuna Baby Essentials has issued a recall for approximately 609,000 child car seats after discovering a potential safety issue with the harness adjuster. The company has found that the harness adjuster on certain Rava seats with a plastic button may loosen, posing a risk of the seats not properly restraining children in the event of a crash. These affected seats were manufactured between July 16, 2016, and October 25, 2023.
According to documents released by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, debris can accumulate in the front harness adjuster, causing it to become loose and potentially compromising the safety of the child. As a response to the recall, Nuna will be providing owners with a fix-it kit that includes a new seat pad, detailed instructions on cleaning the harness adjuster, and a screwdriver to remove a plastic cover. The company has not yet announced a specific date for notifying owners via letter.
It is important to note that the recall only affects Nuna Rava child car seats in the United States and does not impact those sold in Canada. Nuna assures Canadian consumers that the Rava child car seats in Canada comply with all safety regulations and are not subject to the same issue. Canadian consumers can also access cleaning kits and new car seat pads as needed.
The recall was initiated following an investigation by the U.S. NHTSA, prompted by a public petition for a recall. Owners of the affected Nuna Rava child car seats are advised to contact Nuna customer service at (855) 686-2891 or email the company at info.usa@nunababy.com for further assistance.
