Caitlin Clark, Fever demolish Brazil National Team in WNBA preseason game

Caitlin Clark Shines in Indiana Fever’s Preseason Win Against Brazil National Team

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever dominated the Brazil National Team in a preseason matchup at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Clark’s old college stomping grounds with the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Fever cruised to a 108-44 victory, with Clark showcasing her skills by scoring 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, alongside five assists and six rebounds in just under 19 minutes of play.

Clark, who missed the team’s opening preseason game due to a leg injury, looked sharp and comfortable in her first game action of the season. She was seen sinking three-pointers from the Hawkeyes’ logo, reminiscent of her college days.

The Fever had a well-rounded scoring effort, with four starters reaching double digits in points. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 17 points and three steals, while Aliyah Boston chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Newcomers DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, and Sophie Cunningham also made significant contributions to the team’s success.

Indiana’s sharpshooting was on full display as they connected on 15-of-33 attempts from beyond the arc, shooting an impressive 45.5% from three-point range. Their defense was equally impressive, forcing Team Brazil into 26 turnovers throughout the game.

The Fever will conclude their preseason schedule with a matchup against the Atlanta Dream before kicking off their regular season against the Chicago Sky on May 17. Fans can expect an exciting season ahead, with Clark leading the charge for Indiana.
