Rory Linkletter is gearing up for his Ottawa Marathon debut next month with a clear goal in mind – to win. The Canadian-born runner recently impressed at the Boston Marathon, shaving 59 seconds off his personal best to finish in an impressive two hours seven minutes two seconds.
Having competed in the 10-kilometre race on Ottawa Race Weekend for the past three years, Linkletter has his sights set on conquering the marathon distance on home soil. The 28-year-old, who hails from Calgary but now resides in Utah, has been steadily improving his times and is determined to make a mark in the marathon world.
While Linkletter remains undecided about competing in the men’s marathon at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo later this year, his recent performance in Boston has certainly put him one step closer to making a decision.
