Carson Beck announces next school with 2-word message after transferring from Georgia

Carson Beck’s brief stint in the transfer portal has come to an end. The former Georgia quarterback made headlines when he entered the portal, just a month after suffering an elbow injury in the SEC title game. Backup Gunner Stockton took over, but unfortunately, the Bulldogs were defeated in the quarterfinals by Notre Dame.

However, Beck wasted no time in finding his next destination, as he has committed to the University of Miami Hurricanes. In an Instagram post, Beck shared a graphic of himself in a Miami uniform with the words “Committed” and “305 Bound,” showing his excitement for this new chapter in his football career.

Interestingly, Beck’s girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, and her twin sister, Haley, are both athletes at Miami. Hanna plays for the women’s basketball team, while Haley initially planned to play at TCU but ultimately decided to return to Miami. Additionally, Haley is dating Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson, adding another layer of connection to the world of sports for Beck.

Initially, Beck had declared for the NFL Draft before entering the transfer portal. Miami is losing their FBS touchdown leader, Cam Ward, to the draft, with Ward being a top contender for the first overall pick. Beck brings with him a wealth of experience from his time at Georgia, where he served as the Bulldogs’ primary starter for the last two seasons. Throughout his college career, Beck completed 68% of his passes for 7,912 yards, 58 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 39 games.

With Beck’s move to Miami, he could potentially follow a similar path to Ward, who also contemplated entering the NFL Draft before joining the Hurricanes. Ward had a standout season, setting new Miami single-season records with 305 completions for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns.
