Chris Grier says Dolphins fans sent cruel emails targeting his children

The Miami Dolphins had a disappointing season last year, finishing with an 8-9 record and missing out on the NFL playoffs. This led to frustration among some Dolphins fans who were hoping for better results.
General manager Chris Grier recently addressed the media after finalizing the team’s roster for the upcoming 2025 season. He discussed the overall structure of the roster and provided updates on specific players as the season opener approaches.
During the media session, Grier revealed that fan discontent had escalated to the point where he received threatening emails targeting his children. Despite facing criticism, Grier remained composed and focused on his job.
“I’ve received some colorful emails, with one even wishing harm upon my kids,” Grier shared. “But I understand that people have their own issues and frustrations. I try not to take it personally and stay focused on the task at hand.”
Grier, who has been with the Dolphins organization since 2000 and became the general manager in 2016, also addressed some roster updates. He confirmed that cornerback Cam Smith would start the season on the non-football injury list, but expressed optimism about running back De’Von Achane’s availability for the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
“All indications point to Achane being ready for Week 1,” Grier reassured reporters.
Despite facing backlash from some fans, Grier remains committed to improving the team’s performance on the field. He emphasized that he shares the frustrations of the fans and is working hard to address any shortcomings from the previous season.
As the Dolphins gear up for the new season, Grier’s focus is on building a competitive team that can deliver the results that fans expect and deserve. Stay tuned for more updates as the 2025 NFL season kicks off.
