Grammy-nominated R&B singer Angie Stone, well-known for her hit song “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” tragically passed away in a car accident at the age of 63. The incident occurred as she was returning to Atlanta from Alabama, when the vehicle she was traveling in flipped over and was struck by a big rig around 4 a.m. ET.

Walter Millsap III, a music producer, shared the heartbreaking news, revealing that everyone else in the van survived the crash except for Stone. The news was conveyed to him by Angie Stone’s daughter, Diamond, and longtime Sequence member Blondy.

Stone was set to perform at the halftime show of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association men’s championship basketball game on the same day as the accident. A moment of silence was held in her honor at the game, with CIAA Chaplain Pastor Jerome Barber expressing deep sadness over her untimely passing.
