Dems cheer return of illegal alien, alleged human trafficker Kilmar Abrego Garcia

Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., has been a vocal advocate for suspected gang member Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who has recently been returned to the U.S. after being deported to El Salvador in March. Van Hollen, along with other Democratic lawmakers, has been fighting for Abrego Garcia’s return, claiming that his constitutional rights were violated during the deportation process.

Abrego Garcia, 29, is facing charges in a sealed federal indictment in Tennessee for alleged conspiracy to unlawfully transport illegal aliens for financial gain and unlawful transportation of illegal aliens. Despite the administration’s claims that Abrego Garcia is a member of the MS-13 gang and was involved in human trafficking, Democrats have continued to argue that he is innocent and deserves due process.

Van Hollen, in a statement to Fox News Digital, emphasized that the focus should be on upholding Abrego Garcia’s constitutional rights and ensuring that he receives a fair trial. He criticized the Trump administration for defying court orders and failing to comply with due process rights.

Rep. Glenn Ivey, another Maryland Democrat who advocated for Abrego Garcia’s return, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the importance of fighting for justice and due process for all individuals, regardless of their circumstances. He emphasized the need to continue the conversation on addressing the larger crisis of wrongful imprisonment.

However, not all lawmakers are in favor of Abrego Garcia’s return. Rep. Andy Harris, Maryland’s lone Republican congressman, expressed frustration over the use of taxpayer dollars to bring back an illegal alien criminal who had already been deported.

The case of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia has sparked debate and raised questions about the balance between national security concerns and individual rights. As Abrego Garcia prepares to face trial in the U.S., the focus will now shift to the legal proceedings and ensuring that justice is served in a fair and transparent manner.
