DOGE reports survey finding that people with future birthdates claimed benefits
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) recently shared some shocking findings from a survey on unemployment insurance claims. The initial survey, which covered claims since 2020, revealed some eyebrow-raising statistics.
According to the survey, thousands of individuals with future birthdates have claimed unemployment benefits. Additionally, the survey found that thousands of people who were either very young or very old had also claimed benefits.
One particularly startling statistic from the survey indicated that 24.5k individuals over the age of 115 claimed a total of $59 million in benefits. Furthermore, 28k individuals between the ages of 1 and 5 claimed a staggering $254 million in benefits. Additionally, 9.7k individuals with birthdates set in the future claimed a total of $69 million in benefits. In one extreme case, an individual with a birthdate in the year 2154 claimed $41k in benefits.
The DOGE post highlighting these findings has sparked outrage and disbelief among the public. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is leading the DOGE initiative to uncover waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, expressed his shock on Twitter. Musk emphasized the absurdity of tax dollars being used to pay fraudulent unemployment claims for fictitious individuals born in the future.
Musk pointed out the lack of proper validation processes, noting that the oldest living American is 114 years old, making it impossible for individuals aged 115 or older to legitimately claim unemployment benefits. He criticized the absence of sanity checks for impossibly young or old claimants.
Despite Fox News Digital reaching out to the Department of Labor for comment, no response was received at the time of publication. Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah also weighed in on the issue, describing the situation as “reckless incompetence.”
The DOGE initiative spearheaded by Musk aims to bring transparency and accountability to government spending. As the public awaits further developments on this shocking revelation, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of stringent oversight and regulation in government programs.
