Gordon Ramsay Reveals He Underwent Surgery To Remove Skin Cancer

British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay took to social media to share a personal health update with his fans. In a recent Instagram post, Ramsay revealed that he underwent surgery for skin cancer and urged his followers to prioritize sun protection.

The post included two photos, one showing a bandage on his face and neck, and another displaying stitches from his earlobe to the top of his neck. Ramsay expressed his gratitude towards the medical team at The Skin Associates for their swift action in removing the Basal Cell Carcinoma, a type of skin cancer commonly found on sun-exposed areas like the face and neck.

In his message, Ramsay humorously assured his followers that the surgery was not a face lift, joking that he would need a refund if it were. He emphasized the importance of wearing sunscreen to prevent skin cancer, particularly Basal Cell Carcinoma.

According to the Mayo Clinic, regular sunscreen use and sun protection practices can help reduce the risk of developing skin cancer. The World Health Organization reports that skin cancer is a prevalent type of cancer worldwide, with over 1.5 million new cases estimated in 2022.

This is not the first time Ramsay has used his platform to raise awareness about health and safety. In a previous post in June 2024, he stressed the importance of wearing a helmet while biking after a serious accident he experienced while cycling in Connecticut.

Ramsay’s candid disclosure serves as a reminder for everyone to prioritize their health and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the harmful effects of sun exposure. Let’s all follow his advice and remember to apply sunscreen regularly to safeguard our skin against potential risks.
