US Election 2024

Fox News poll: 58% of Americans proud of country, highest level since 2011

The latest Fox News national survey reveals that the highest number of voters since 2011 are proud of the country. According to the survey, 58% of respondents say they are proud of the country, which is a significant increase of 13 percentage points since June 2024 and the highest percentage since 2011 when a record 69% expressed pride. On the contrary, 41% of respondents said they are not proud of the country. It is important to note that the survey was conducted before recent events in the Middle East, including U.S. military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and President Donald Trump’s efforts in brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

The increase in pride is mainly driven by an overwhelming majority of Republicans, with 85% now expressing pride compared to just 36% last summer. This makes Republicans 30 points prouder of the country today compared to Democrats a year ago, when only 55% of them expressed pride. In 2011, majorities of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents were proud of the country.

The survey also highlights that 36% of Democrats are proud of the country, while Independents have remained relatively steady with around 40% expressing pride. Republican pollster Daron Shaw, who conducted the survey with Democrat Chris Anderson, noted that partisan differences play a role in how proud individuals are of the country.

Majorities across various groups expressed pride, especially among MAGA supporters (92%), Republican men (88%), and White evangelical Christians (80%). On the other hand, the lack of pride is more pronounced among women with a college degree (51% not proud), voters under the age of 30 (57%), and Democrats (61%).

Despite the increase in pride, the survey also found that only 68% of voters believe that the U.S. is the best country in the world to live in, with 30% disagreeing. This sentiment has remained relatively consistent over the past four years but does not reach the levels seen in 2015 and 2011 when 8 in 10 respondents believed the U.S. was the best country to live in.

Overall, one-third of voters trust the federal government, while nearly two-thirds distrust it. Concerns about the future of the country were cited as the top issue, with 85% of respondents expressing extreme or very high levels of concern. Other top concerns included inflation, government spending, Iran acquiring a nuclear bomb, antisemitism, illegal immigration, domestic use of U.S. military troops, and protests in U.S. cities.

The survey, conducted from June 13-16, 2025, included interviews with 1,003 registered voters and had a margin of sampling error of ±3 percentage points. The findings provide valuable insights into the current sentiments of voters regarding their pride in the country and concerns about its future.
