Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Malik Henry announced on Twitter on Sunday that he tore his Achilles tendon during Saturday’s loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The recovery time for a torn Achilles tendon can take four to six months, ruling him out for at least the rest of the regular season.
To everyone who DMed me or reached out about last night, I just wanted to give you all an update. I tore my Achilles tendon during the game last night. It’s going to be a long process, but I know God wouldn’t let me go through anything I couldn’t handle. Thanks for all the prayers ๐๐ฝ๐ค
Henry had four catches for 92 yards on Saturday before being carted off in the fourth quarter with a non-contact injury.
Henry signed a three-year extension with the Stampeders last October.
Calgary is 1-1 to start the season and has a bye into Week 4 before taking on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on July 7.
