Harry Styles hit in the face by flying object during concert

Concert etiquette and conventions are always changing, but a good rule of thumb is never to throw objects at a performer while they are performing.

Unfortunately, a fan of Harry Styles took it upon himself to throw an unidentified object at the English superstar during a show in Vienna on Saturday, apparently hitting him around the left eye with some force.

The moment was captured on video by a fan – the former One Direction singer can be seen wincing in pain and rubbing the affected area.

The incident is the latest in an alarming trend in which several performers have been hit or nearly hit by flying objects during their performances.

In June, pop singer Bebe Rexha was punched in the face and injured by a cell phone hurled from the audience at a show in New York City, leading to the arrest of one man. Soon after, country singer Kelsea Ballerini was struck by a bracelet thrown at her face in Boise, Idaho. Last week, one sex toy was lobbed to Lil Nas X in Stockholm, and one fan threw a cell phone at Drakehitting him on the wrist at a concert in Chicago.

In fact, it wasn’t even the first time Styles fell victim to this trend – last fall it was hit in the crotch by a UFO at the United Center in Chicago.

“STOP this,” rapper Flavor Flav chimed in on Twitter after the Vienna incident. “(H)omeboy just trying to make you guys happy.”

“This object-throwing culture is about to kill the way we experience concerts and festivals in the future,” wrote one Twitter user. “They’re about to get more expensive and more exclusive.”

It’s all pretty concerning, although no incident was as disturbing as when a fan shocked singer Pink when she appeared to throw their relative’s ashes on stage at her concert in London, UK

In February, Styles won two Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, for his 2022 album “Harry’s House.”
