Florida immigration law gets support in new filing from AG James Uthmeier

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is not backing down in the face of a Miami federal judge’s attempt to halt enforcement of a state immigration law. Uthmeier fired back at the Obama-appointed judge, Kathleen Williams, stating that he will fight the order to the top if necessary.
In response to Judge Williams’ ruling that the state’s immigration law violated the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution, Uthmeier argued that he cannot tell law enforcement officers not to enforce the law, as they are not party to the order. He emphasized that Florida cops do not need his permission to do their jobs and that the judge cannot order law enforcement officers to stand down when they are not involved in the case.
Uthmeier submitted a motion to the 11th Circuit in Atlanta to stay the order halting Florida’s immigration enforcement. He firmly believes that the state’s law, which criminalizes the entry of illegal immigrants into Florida, aligns with federal law and does not violate the Constitution.
The Attorney General also launched the Office of Parental Rights to defend parents’ “god-given right” and provide legal support in cases involving parental rights. He emphasized the importance of respecting the rule of law and appropriate separation of powers, especially in the face of challenges from organizations like the ACLU.
Uthmeier remains committed to upholding Florida’s laws and supporting President Trump’s agenda on illegal immigration. He believes that it is crucial to defend the state’s sovereignty and work towards removing every illegal alien from the country.
In conclusion, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is determined to push back against the federal judge’s order and will continue to fight for the enforcement of the state’s immigration laws. His unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the state’s sovereignty highlights his dedication to serving the people of Florida.
