Human remains found around Long Lake Provincial Park in Halifax

Halifax Regional Police say human remains were found near Long Lake Provincial Park in Halifax on Tuesday.

In a news release Wednesday, police said they were called to the area early Tuesday afternoon to respond to a report of remains being found near the 0-100 block of Old Sambro Road.

The remains have not been positively identified, but police say there is currently no evidence of foul play.

Police taped off several entry points to the park on Tuesday, including one at Dentith Road and Old Sambro Road, and a second entrance at Old Sambro Road. Several police vehicles were stationed in the area.

The police tape was removed just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
