Israel strikes Yemen port city

Israeli forces launched airstrikes on Yemen’s port city of Hodeidah on Monday in response to repeated attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis, including a missile strike that nearly hit Tel Aviv’s largest airport. The Israel Defense Forces targeted the port city and a concrete factory, which are crucial supply sources for the Houthi terrorist regime. The Houthis retaliated with surface-to-surface missiles and drones launched at Israel and civilians.

The IDF also struck the “Bajil” Concrete Plant, a significant economic resource for the Houthis used for constructing underground tunnels and terrorist infrastructure. The group is funded and trained by Iran. The strike was in retaliation for a Houthi missile attack that almost struck Ben Gurion Airport, leading to the cancellation of international flights to Israel.

Following Hamas’ attack on Israel in October 2023, the Houthis targeted commercial shipping around the Red Sea in solidarity with the terror group. U.S. naval forces have conducted airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed retaliation for the missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport.

The original article included images of Houthi fighters holding weapons and an Israeli fighter jet taking off. The missile that evaded Israeli and U.S. defenses caused emergency services to clear roads outside Ben Gurion Airport. The IDF’s actions are part of ongoing tensions in the region, with Israel approving a plan to capture all of Gaza and calling up reserve troops. Parents of Hamas hostages have urged President Trump to be tough amid the Israeli siege in Gaza.
