Kim Jong Un’s big guns spotted on Russian front lines

A North Korean M1989 Koksan self-propelled howitzer has been reportedly sighted on Russia’s front lines, adding to the escalating tensions in the region. The weapon, known for its long-range capabilities of up to 37 miles with rocket-assisted shells, was first spotted being transported by rail in November and has now been seen in a combat location.

Reports from East 2 West news and social media have surfaced images and a video allegedly showing the howitzer in action, although the exact location of the weapon could not be independently verified by Fox News Digital. The howitzers were initially confirmed to have been passing through Siberia by rail in November, shortly after the U.S. announced North Korea had deployed thousands of soldiers to Russia.

The presence of North Korean troops in Russia comes after a defensive treaty was signed between Pyongyang and Moscow, pledging military support for each other. This development has raised concerns about the involvement of North Korean forces in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine’s Kursk region, where both Ukrainian and Russian troops have suffered heavy losses.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that thousands of North Korean troops have been killed or wounded in the region, while the Ukrainian military claimed significant casualties on the Russian side. Moscow, on the other hand, alleged a high number of Ukrainian casualties, although these figures have not been independently verified.

Despite the conflicting casualty reports, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that Ukrainian forces have made tactical advances in Kursk, with continued offensive operations. Ukrainian strikes against Russian rear areas have supported ground operations, while Russian forces have faced challenges in making significant advances in northern Ukraine.

Recent reports indicated that Russian forces had captured Kurakhove in Donetsk, a town in the Donbas region, potentially signaling a strategic win for Russian forces. However, Ukrainian troops have been successful in countering Russian advances in other areas, preventing significant gains for the invading forces.

The situation in Ukraine remains fluid, with ongoing clashes and shifting front lines. The presence of North Korean weaponry on Russia’s front lines adds a new dimension to the conflict, raising concerns about the extent of foreign involvement in the region. As the situation continues to evolve, it is essential to closely monitor developments and assess the impact of external actors on the conflict.
