Two Winners of $80 Million Lotto Max Jackpot Announced by OLG

Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) has revealed that there are two winners of the $80 million Lotto Max jackpot. The prize will be divided between two tickets sold in Quebec and Alberta, respectively.

During the Tuesday-night draw, this jackpot marked the second time in Canada’s history that the top prize reached $80 million.

Aside from the jackpot, winning tickets for one-million-dollar prizes were sold in Brampton, Hamilton, and Timmins, Ont. Another million was won online, and a further million was split between three winning tickets of $333,333.40 each in Hamilton, Toronto, and Bowmanville, Ont.

The Lotto Max “Second Prize” ticket, valued at just under $225,000, was sold in Unionville, Ont., according to a statement from the lottery corporation. Additionally, a $100,000 “Encore” prize awaits the holder of a ticket purchased in the Kawartha Lakes area.

With the winnings from this week, OLG has now awarded $8.8 billion in prizes since 2009.

This Friday’s draw is anticipated to feature a jackpot of $33 million.
