Trump renews threat against Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship amid ongoing feud

In recent news, President Donald Trump has once again stirred controversy by threatening to strip actress and comedian Rosie O’Donnell of her U.S. citizenship. This move, which he has threatened in the past, is not legally possible due to the protections afforded by the 14th Amendment.

Trump took to Truth Social to express his thoughts on O’Donnell, stating that she is “not a Great American” and is “incapable of being so.” This is not the first time Trump has targeted O’Donnell, with previous remarks suggesting that she is a “Threat to Humanity.”

Despite Trump’s rhetoric, the Constitution does not allow a president to revoke the citizenship of someone born in the U.S., as O’Donnell was in Commack, New York. O’Donnell, who has Irish heritage, has since moved to Ireland with her daughter and is in the process of obtaining Irish citizenship to become a dual citizen.

Trump’s feud with O’Donnell dates back nearly two decades, with the initial spark coming from O’Donnell’s criticism of him on “The View” in 2006. The animosity between them has only grown over the years, with Trump making derogatory remarks about O’Donnell during a Republican primary debate in 2015.

O’Donnell’s recent actions, including posting a video incorrectly linking a school shooter to being a MAGA supporter and white supremacist, have further fueled the ongoing feud. She has since apologized for the misinformation in the video, acknowledging her mistake and expressing regret for her hasty remarks.

It is clear that the tension between Trump and O’Donnell shows no signs of abating. While Trump may continue to make threats against O’Donnell, the legal protections in place make it impossible for him to follow through on his words. The saga between these two figures is likely to continue, with each new development adding fuel to the fire of their longstanding feud.
