Man, 76, charged with murder after woman killed in Cole Harbour

The RCMP said they were contacted shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday by a man who said he had killed a woman inside his residence, according to a news release.

A 76-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a 74-year-old woman in Cole Harbour, N.S. 

Edmund Joseph Organ is in custody and scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on June 10.

The RCMP said they were contacted shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday by a man who said he had killed a woman inside his residence, according to a news release. 

Members of the RCMP and Halifax Regional Police surrounded a home on Agincourt Crescent and convinced a man inside to come out, the release said.

Officers found the woman dead inside the house and arrested Organ.
