More weapons charges for man accused of selling drugs to unhoused people in Lower Sackville
LOWER SACKVILLE, N.S. — A Lower Sackville man is facing more charges stemming from an RCMP investigation into drugs being sold to unhoused people in the area.
After a search of the man’s camper and truck on Jan. 5, during which Mounties uncovered drugs and weapons and arrested the 56-year-old, the investigation led to a search warrant for a storage locker rented by the accused at a facility on Glendale Avenue.
On Jan. 8, police found a shotgun, 1.2 kilograms of cannabis pre-packaged for distribution and stolen power tools.
The RCMP said a further search of a hidden storage compartment in the camper didn’t reveal any other items.
In addition to his previous charges, Frank George Duffy now faces these charges:
- Careless storage of a firearm;
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and;
- Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
Duffy, who was remanded into custody after his initial arrest, is due back in a Dartmouth provincial courtroom on Wednesday.
