Motorcyclist killed in collision with van in Lawrencetown

A tragic accident in Lawrencetown, Halifax County has claimed the life of a 65-year-old motorcyclist from Three Fathom Harbour, Nova Scotia. The RCMP confirmed that the victim was a man from the local area.
The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 12:10 p.m. AT when the motorcyclist was travelling west on Lawrencetown Road. A collision occurred when an Econoline van, travelling south on Gammon Lake Road, intersected with the motorcycle’s path. The impact was fatal for the motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, the driver of the van, a 59-year-old man from Westphal, escaped unharmed.
Emergency response teams, including RCMP officers, fire crews, and paramedics, swiftly arrived at the scene to provide assistance. As a result of the accident, Lawrencetown Road had to be closed for several hours to facilitate the investigation and clean-up process.
