New Brunswick baby names: Noah, Charlotte top the list in 2024

Traditional Baby Names Remain Popular in New Brunswick

The timeless charm of traditional names continues to reign supreme in New Brunswick, as evidenced by the province’s latest list of top baby names.

According to the New Brunswick government, Noah and Charlotte stole the show as the most favored names for baby boys and girls in 2024.

The government also revealed that other classic names held their ground in popularity last year, with Liam, Oliver, Henry, Jack, Olivia, Amelia, Elizabeth, and Ellie making the list of top choices.

This year’s list showed a resemblance to the previous year, as names like Liam, Olivia, Noah, Charlotte, and Oliver maintained their positions as favorites among parents.

Interestingly, Noah, Charlotte, Oliver, Jack, Olivia, and Amelia were not only beloved in New Brunswick but also found their way onto Nova Scotia’s roster of popular baby names.

Despite a slight decrease in registered births compared to 2023, with 5,822 births recorded between Jan. 1 and Dec. 15, the province continues to uphold its tradition of embracing timeless names for its newborns.
