These topics are of critical importance to the region’s development and prosperity.
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is expected to present his priorities to Prime Minister Mark Carney during the conference. Moe will advocate for strengthening the Criminal Code and giving provinces full control over the industrial carbon levy. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing provincial autonomy and addressing key challenges facing Western Canada.
Nunavut Premier P.J. Akeeagok will focus on the Arctic and the need for infrastructure development to safeguard the security and sovereignty of the North. Akeeagok highlights the vast resource potential of the Arctic and emphasizes the importance of infrastructure investments to support economic growth in the region.
