Police charge four people in separate impaired driving incidents in Halifax and Bedford

HALIFAX, N.S. — Halifax police arrested and charged four drivers in separate impaired driving incidents in Halifax and Bedford on Aug. 20.
The first arrest came after Halifax Regional Police officers received a report of a possible impaired driver in the Rutledge Street area in Bedford shortly after 1:30 a.m.
Officers found the vehicle and arrested the driver after noticing signs of impairment.
The 27-year-old woman was charged with impaired driving and impaired driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg per cent.
Shortly after, around 1:40 a.m., officers stopped a driver they believed to be impaired on Argyle Street in Halifax.
Police arrested the 26-year-old man after noticing signs of impairment and charged him with failing to comply with a demand for breath testing.
Ten minutes later, officers stopped a driver they believed was impaired on Walter Havill Drive in Halifax.
Officers arrested a 38-year-old man after noticing signs of impairment and charged him with impaired driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg per cent.
Around 3 a.m. that same morning, police stopped a driver they believed to be impaired on Kearney Lake Drive in Halifax.
Police arrested the driver, a 21-year-old man, who showed signs of impairment and charged him with impaired driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg per cent.
The four drivers will appear in court to face the charges at a later date.
