The company, which partnered with Netflix for the most-streamed global sporting event in history, adamantly denied claims that the fight was rigged or scripted.
In a statement released on Monday, MVP emphasized that they followed all necessary regulations for the sanctioned match, which was overseen by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR). The company asserted that both fighters, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, competed in good faith and were not subject to any restrictions that would violate TDLR boxing rules.
The highly-anticipated bout saw Paul emerge victorious with a unanimous decision over the former heavyweight champion. Judges scored the fight 80-72, 79-73, 79-73 in favor of Paul, who dominated the striking battle with a score of 78-18 across eight rounds. The event, held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, set a new record for total revenue generated at $18,117,072 US, with a record-breaking 72,300 fans in attendance.
