Quebec provincial police say the 32-year-old man northeast of Montreal is a victim of murder
MONTREAL — Quebec provincial police say they are investigating a homicide after a man was reportedly shot in his car in a town northeast of Montreal.
The police say that 32-year-old Noël Garcia-Frias was found in Charlemagne on Friday.
Repentigny police say they saw a seriously injured man on the street in the small town in the Lanaudière region, about 15 miles northeast of Montreal, around 10 p.m. and took him to the hospital where he died.
Sergeant Camille Savoie says the victim was known to police and his death was initially classified as suspicious, but a homicide has been confirmed.
Police said over the weekend that the injuries he sustained were from a firearm and the victim was found in his vehicle.
No arrests have been made and police have no further details on the case.
