Quebec targets jobs in technology, engineering, health and education with 1,218 Canadian immigration invites
Immigration in Quebec has focused on technical, engineering, health and education professions in a new trek through the Arrima Expression of interest system.
The June 29 draw focused on three categories of candidates with 1,218 invitations.
The first category was aimed at technical professions with a minimum score of 584 in the Quebec Expression of Interest points systemwho also required oral French proficiency level 7 or higher on the Quebec proficiency scale.
The second category targeted engineering, health and education professions with a minimum score of 592, which also required Oral Level 7 French.
The specific occupations covered by the first two categories are listed below.
Applicants with a job offer outside the Montreal metropolitan area fell into the third category. There was no minimum score for these candidates.

How does Quebec Expression of Interest work?
- Candidates submit an online expression of interest through Arrima.
- Profiles enter an Expression of Interest pool, where they are ranked against each other using a points system and are valid for 12 months.
- The highest ranked candidates are invited to apply for a Quebec Certificate of Selection under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program through periodic draws.
- Candidates who receive an invitation have 60 days to submit a complete application.
- Approved candidates who receive a Certificate of Nomination (CSQ) can then apply to the federal government for Canadian permanent residency.
Quebec Expression of Interest Points system
The Quebec expressed interest points system is used to rank profiles submitted through Arrima to the Expression of Interest bank, with the highest ranked profiles invited to apply Immigration in Quebec below the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
Candidates and their spouse or partner can score up to 1,320 points based on human capital and labor market factors in Quebec.
What are the requirements for showing interest in Quebec?
The Quebec Expression of Interest points system includes points in two categories, some of which include points for the spouse of the lead candidate’s common-law partner.
