Girl, 15, accused of stabbing another teenager after fight in Bayers Lake area

HALIFAX, NS — Police in Halifax have arrested and charged a 15-year-old girl after a stabbing in the city on June 16.

Halifax Regional Police said officers were called to the 200 block of Chain Lake Drive in Halifax shortly after 7:45 p.m. after reports of a physical altercation between two teenage girls.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found a 15-year-old girl in a business suffering from a non-life-threatening injury resembling a stab wound.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested at the scene while the victim was taken to hospital.

City police say the alleged suspect and victim are known to each other and detectives are not looking for other suspects.

The suspect has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault with bodily harm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and will appear in Halifax District Court at a later date.
