US Election 2024

Trump-backed incumbent Rep. Scott Perry wins re-election in PA-10

Republican Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry has secured victory in his re-election bid against Democratic challenger Janelle Stelson in the state’s 10th Congressional District. Perry, who has been serving as a congressman since 2013, represents the 10th District, encompassing Harrisburg, Dauphin County, and parts of Cumberland and York Counties.

Despite the focus on the presidential and Senate races in Pennsylvania, the battle for the 10th District seat garnered attention. Perry, a staunch supporter of former President Trump, campaigned on key issues such as border security, American energy independence, protecting women’s sports, and combating inflation caused by the left’s spending policies.

On the other hand, Stelson, a former broadcast journalist, advocated for protecting abortion rights, increasing border security, and reducing the cost of living for Pennsylvanians. The Democratic challenger garnered endorsements from former Republican House members who worked with Perry, including Barbara Comstock, Adam Kinzinger, Denver Riggleman, Dave Trott, and Joe Walsh.

During a heated debate, Perry highlighted his support for Trump-era legislation that boosted wages and cut taxes, contrasting it with Stelson’s focus on raising the minimum wage in Pennsylvania. The race attracted significant attention as Pennsylvania voters are seen as pivotal in determining the federal election outcome.

In the midst of the political showdown, the state also witnessed a closely watched Senate race between Democratic incumbent Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick. With all eyes on Pennsylvania, the state remains a battleground for both parties as they vie for control of key seats in Congress.
