Poilievre Criticizes Carney’s Approach to Trump at Rally

Addressing a crowd in Brampton, Ont., Poilievre wasted no time in criticizing Prime Minister Carney’s handling of President Trump’s recent decisions.

He condemned Trump’s choice to maintain tariffs on Canada, calling it “the latest disrespect by President Trump towards our country.” The crowd expressed their disapproval with loud boos as Poilievre pointed out the lack of tariff relief for Canada, despite other countries receiving a reprieve.

“Even after Prime Minister Carney claimed to have had a productive phone call with the president, we are still being unfairly targeted,” Poilievre stated.

Highlighting Carney’s reliance on his ability to influence Trump through negotiations, Poilievre declared, “Prime Minister Carney is basing his entire campaign on a false premise. It’s clear now that no one can control this unpredictable president.”

While emphasizing the need for swift negotiations with Trump, Poilievre also emphasized the importance of focusing on areas within Canada’s control. He pledged to undo the economic policies of the Liberal government that have increased our reliance on the United States.
