Truro man’s disappearance now part of N.S. major unsolved crimes program

The disappearance of Zachery Vaughan Kellock, a 23-year-old man from Truro, N.S., has been a mystery for 15 months and has now become part of the province’s major unsolved crimes program. Kellock was last seen leaving his home in Truro on January 14, 2024, after getting into a car with two other individuals. Concern grew when he did not return home after two days, prompting his family to report him missing to the Truro police. The investigation was then taken over by the RCMP after it was discovered that Kellock had been last seen at an address in Millbrook First Nation.
From the outset, Zach’s disappearance was viewed as suspicious by authorities. RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Tichonchuk stated in a release on April 11 that the investigation into Kellock’s disappearance is being treated as a homicide. This unsettling development has left his family and the community deeply troubled and searching for answers.
In an effort to encourage individuals to come forward with information, the Nova Scotia Justice Department has announced a reward of up to $150,000 for any details that lead to an arrest and conviction in the case. The department emphasized that there is reason to believe criminal activity was involved in Kellock’s disappearance. Despite extensive efforts, Kellock’s body has not been found, and no charges have been filed in connection with the case.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact the unsolved crimes program at 1-888-710-9090 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. The hope is that by offering a substantial reward and appealing to the public for assistance, justice can be served for Zachery Vaughan Kellock and closure can be provided to his loved ones.
The tragic circumstances surrounding Kellock’s disappearance serve as a stark reminder of the importance of community involvement in solving crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice. As the investigation continues, authorities remain committed to uncovering the truth and holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
