The annual Pride Parade of Ottawa was canceled on Sunday after being disrupted by Pro-Palestinian demonstrators.

A group known as Queers for Palestine – Ottawa had organized a rally to coincide with the Pride Parade.

Elected officials and other groups had previously expressed solidarity with Palestinians, but the statement has since been removed from the organization’s website.

An online video surfaced today showing a demonstrator advocating for solidarity with the Pro-Palestinian cause and calling for officials who boycotted last year’s parade to apologize.

Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, who was present at the parade, described the incident as “deeply regrettable” and expressed disappointment over the disruption.

Capital Pride announced the cancellation of the Parade, which was set to pass through Parliament Hill, shortly before 3 p.m.
