Wild video shows man swipe delivery truck with female employee still inside

A shocking incident occurred in Oregon on November 15, when a man was arrested for stealing a delivery truck from Elephants Delicatessen. The most disturbing part of the theft was that an employee was still inside the truck’s cargo area when the thief made off with the vehicle.

The incident took place just before 4:30 a.m. on that fateful day. The Milwaukie Police Department received a distress call about a work cargo truck that had been stolen from the warehouse parking lot. The employees were in the process of loading the truck for the day when a man suddenly leaped into the truck and drove away.

Security footage captured the heart-stopping moment when the suspect got into the truck cab and sped away, leaving the employee no choice but to jump out of the moving truck. The employee, identified as Esmeralda, recounted the terrifying experience, saying, “[the truck] started moving even faster and then that’s when I started to hold on to whatever I could hold on to. He slowed down for a bit before hitting the railroad tracks, and so, I jumped off.”

Despite the traumatic ordeal, Esmeralda only sustained minor injuries. Witnesses at the scene informed the police that the truck was equipped with a GPS tracking device. However, initial attempts to locate the stolen truck were unsuccessful.

Fortunately, later in the day, employees of Elephants Delicatessen notified the police that the truck had been spotted in Portland, thanks to the GPS tracking system. With the assistance of the Beaverton Police Department, the stolen truck was located, and the suspected thief, 29-year-old Forrest Lee Guayante from Aberdeen, Washington, was apprehended.

In a dramatic turn of events, Guayante allegedly rammed a police car with the stolen truck in an attempt to flee. However, heavy traffic thwarted his escape, leading him to abandon the truck and attempt to run away on foot. With the aid of a police K-9 unit, officers were able to track down Guayante and take him into custody.

Guayante now faces a slew of charges, including unauthorized use of a vehicle, reckless endangering, attempt to elude, hit-and-run, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, kidnapping, criminal mischief, theft, and fraudulent use of a credit card. He has been booked in the Washington County Jail as per the Milwaukie Police Department.

This shocking incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of security measures in place for businesses and the dangers that employees can face in their line of work. The swift action taken by law enforcement officers to apprehend the suspect and ensure justice is served is commendable.
