Hamas attack on Gaza Humanitarian Foundation kills 8 aid workers

An unprovoked attack on the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) by Hamas has left at least eight people dead and numerous others injured, with fears that some team members may have been taken hostage. The GHF, a U.S.-backed organization, was targeted by Hamas militants while its workers were delivering food aid to the people of Gaza.
John Acree, the interim Executive Director of GHF, expressed shock and sadness over the brutal attack but affirmed the organization’s commitment to continue providing food security for the Palestinian people in Gaza. Despite the heightened security risks and safety concerns, GHF has decided to persevere in its mission to deliver aid to those in need.
Rev. Johnnie Moore, the Executive Chairman of GHF, condemned the attack as a ruthless assault on humanitarian workers who were simply trying to help those who are suffering. He emphasized that the aid workers were not combatants and had no political affiliations, but were targeted by Hamas for their selfless service to the community. Moore called on the international community to condemn the barbaric attack and stand in solidarity with organizations like GHF that are working on the ground to alleviate suffering.
In a statement, GHF revealed that Hamas had been threatening its team and aid workers for days leading up to the ambush. The organization called on the international community to denounce Hamas for its unprovoked violence against those who are dedicated to providing essential aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Oren Marmorstein also denounced the attack and questioned the silence of the United Nations in response to Hamas’ threats and violence against aid workers. The U.N. has previously clashed with GHF, criticizing the organization and casting doubts on its ability to deliver aid effectively. Despite these challenges, GHF has continued its operations, distributing millions of meals to those in need.
Moore criticized the U.N. for its failure to condemn Hamas and its ongoing slander against GHF’s humanitarian mission. He called on the international community to either join forces with GHF in its efforts to provide aid or at the very least, boycott Hamas for its acts of violence and terror.
The GHF has received gratitude from Palestinians who have benefited from its aid, with many thanking the U.S. and President Donald Trump for their assistance. As GHF continues its vital work in Gaza, the organization remains steadfast in its commitment to serving those in need, despite the challenges and threats it faces.
The United Nations and other international bodies have been called upon to take a stand against Hamas’ violence and to support the efforts of organizations like GHF that are dedicated to humanitarian relief in Gaza. It is crucial for the global community to come together in solidarity to address the urgent needs of the Palestinian people and to condemn acts of violence and terror that seek to undermine peace and stability in the region.
