Moncton man arrested after stolen police car crosses into Nova Scotia

A 36-year-old man from Moncton has been apprehended following the theft of a marked RCMP vehicle from Sackville, New Brunswick, which was then driven to Nova Scotia. According to reports, New Brunswick RCMP officers were alerted to the theft on Wright Street around 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The stolen vehicle reportedly fled onto the highway, heading towards Nova Scotia.

As the situation escalated, Highway 104 near Amherst was shut down in both directions around 3 p.m. to facilitate the police operation. RCMP Sgt. Pierre-Luc Hache confirmed that a tire deflation device was employed by officers to bring the stolen vehicle to a halt. The Nova Scotia RCMP also lent their support during the operation, although two police officers sustained minor injuries during the arrest. Sgt.
