Shooting and vehicle fire are connected in HRM, the police say

The RCMP Seeks Public Help in Investigating Shooting and Vehicle Fire in Halifax Area

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in the Halifax area is reaching out to the public for assistance in gathering information regarding a reported shooting and vehicle fire in the municipality.

According to police reports, officers responded to a shooting incident on Cherry Brook Road around 3:30 pm on Monday.

“During the investigation, authorities discovered shell casings in the 100 block of Cherry Brook Rd., and identified two vehicles – a black car and a brown or gray SUV,” as stated in a media release from the RCMP.

Utilizing resources such as the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, Halifax Regional Police Canine Unit, and RCMP Remote Piloted Aerial System, evidence was meticulously collected and analyzed.

Later that same evening, a burning SUV was reported on Lake Eagle Drive in East Preston. It is believed that this vehicle is linked to the earlier shooting incident.

The RCMP is urging anyone who may have dashcam footage of Cherry Brook Road between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., or Lake Eagle Drive between 3:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., to come forward and provide any relevant information to assist in the investigation.
