Trump’s famous ‘Diet Coke Button’ makes comeback to White House Oval Office

The Diet Coke button has made a comeback in the Oval Office, allowing President Trump to easily order his favorite drink with just a push of a button. The red button, hidden in a wooden box, was used by Trump during his first term and was spotted once again on the Resolute Desk after he was sworn in as the 47th president on Monday.

The Oval Office, where presidents conduct important meetings and make crucial decisions, is often personalized to reflect the values and goals of the incoming commander in chief. President Trump, known for his love of Diet Coke and aversion to alcohol due to his brother’s struggles with alcoholism, has once again made his mark on the iconic office.

During his inaugural address, Trump expressed his admiration for the Oval Office, calling it one of the “great offices in history.” He emphasized the importance of the Oval Office as a place where everything starts and ends, highlighting its significance in the presidency.

In addition to the return of the Diet Coke button, Trump has made other changes to the Oval Office decor. A portrait of George Washington now hangs over the fireplace, flanked by portraits of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. Military flags for each service branch, which were removed by Biden, have been reinstated in the office.

A bust of Winston Churchill, removed by Biden in 2021, has been returned to its place near the fireplace. Trump has also kept a bust of Martin Luther King Jr. in the Oval Office, a symbol of unity and equality.

New silver eagle figures now adorn the fireplace mantel, adding a touch of elegance to the room. Trump has also chosen to display a portrait of Andrew Jackson, a populist president who defied critics to win the White House, once again in the Oval Office.

Despite these changes, Trump has retained Biden’s addition of a Benjamin Franklin portrait, symbolizing a focus on science and innovation. The Oval Office reflects the president’s personal style and beliefs, creating a space that is uniquely his own.

As Trump begins his second term in office, the Diet Coke button serves as a reminder of his preferences and routines. The iconic office continues to evolve, reflecting the changing times and the personality of the president who occupies it.
