IDF kills Hamas founder Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa linked to Oct. 7 attack

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Saturday that they had successfully carried out a joint operation with the Israel Security Agency (ISA) to eliminate one of the founders of Hamas. Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa, a senior figure in Hamas’ military wing, was killed in Gaza City in an airstrike in the Sabra on Friday, according to the IDF.
Issa held a prominent role within the Hamas military wing as the head of combat support headquarters. He was responsible for leading force-buildup efforts in the Gaza Strip, heading the training headquarters, and serving as a member of Hamas’ General Security Council. The IDF stated that Issa played a significant role in planning and executing the brutal October 7th massacre and had been involved in recent attacks on Israeli civilians and IDF troops in Gaza.
In addition to the operation in Gaza, the IDF also confirmed the killing of Abbas Al-Hassan Wahbi, a Hezbollah terrorist, in southern Lebanon. Wahbi, who was responsible for intelligence in Hezbollah’s ‘Radwan Force’ Battalion, was involved in rebuilding Hezbollah’s organizational systems and weapons transfers, which violated agreements between Israel and Lebanon.
These operations come following Israel’s conflict with Iran, during which multiple military leaders, including Saeed Izadi, an Iranian commander, were killed by the IDF. Izadi had been instrumental in arming and funding Hamas on behalf of the Iranian regime.
The IDF emphasized its commitment to removing any threats to the state of Israel and will continue to operate against terrorist organizations in the region. The recent actions highlight the ongoing security challenges faced by Israel and the IDF’s efforts to maintain stability in the region.
