Florida Panthers win 6-1 as major brawl erupts in Stanley Cup Final Game 3

The NHL is known for its physicality and fights, but it is rare to see a full-on brawl in a Stanley Cup Playoff game. However, Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers turned into just that.
In a lopsided victory for the Panthers, tensions were running high on the ice. With the Panthers already leading 5-1, the game took a turn for the worse when Edmonton forward Trent Federic began targeting Sam Bennett, leading to a heated altercation that sparked a chain reaction of fights between players from both teams.
The referees allowed the brawl to play out, resulting in multiple game misconducts for players on both sides. Despite the chaos, the Panthers managed to maintain their composure and secured a 6-1 victory with a power-play goal by Evan Rodrigues.
Aside from the fights, the Panthers showcased their offensive prowess with goals from Brad Marchand, Sam Bennett, and Carter Verhaeghe. Marchand made history as the oldest player to score in each of the first three Stanley Cup Finals games, while Bennett’s breakaway goal ignited the crowd at Amerant Bank Arena.
Despite a power-play goal from Corey Perry, the Oilers were unable to keep up with the Panthers’ relentless attack and physical play. Aaron Ekblad sealed the deal with a goal on the power play, solidifying Florida’s dominance in Game 3.
The Panthers now hold a 2-1 series lead over the Oilers, with Game 4 set to take place on Thursday night. Florida’s momentum and determination will be crucial as they look to extend their lead and inch closer to claiming the Stanley Cup.
