Lamar Jackson throws for 2 touchdowns, rushes for 1 as Ravens take down Chargers

In a highly anticipated matchup between the Harbaugh brothers, John came out on top as his Baltimore Ravens defeated Jim’s Los Angeles Chargers 30-23 at SoFi Stadium on “Monday Night Football.” The win improved the Ravens’ record to 8-4 on the season, while the Chargers dropped to 7-4.

While it may have been the first game this season that he didn’t score, Derrick Henry once again led the Ravens’ offense with a dominant rushing performance. Henry racked up 140 yards on 24 carries, averaging 5.8 yards per attempt. The Ravens’ ground game has been a force to be reckoned with all season, and the Chargers’ defense had no answer for Henry’s powerful running style.

Despite Henry’s standout performance, it was a team effort for the Ravens as two other rushers found the end zone. Lamar Jackson scored the Ravens’ first touchdown of the game with a rushing score, while Justice Hill sealed the victory with a 51-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

On the other side of the ball, Justin Herbert got the Chargers off to a strong start with a touchdown on the opening drive. However, the Chargers struggled to find the end zone for the rest of the game, relying on field goals from Cameron Dicker to keep them in contention.

Jackson had a solid performance for the Ravens, throwing for two touchdowns and adding a rushing score. Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman were on the receiving end of Jackson’s touchdown passes, with Bateman making a spectacular catch despite defensive pass interference.

Herbert had a tough night, completing just 21 of 36 passes for 218 yards. Drops plagued the Chargers’ receiving corps, with Quentin Johnston failing to haul in any of his five targets. Rookie standout Ladd McConkey was a bright spot for the Chargers, racking up 83 yards on six receptions.

Unfortunately for the Chargers, their star running back J.K. Dobbins left the game with a knee injury. Dobbins, who has been a key player for the Chargers this season, has a history of knee ligament injuries, leaving fans anxious about his status moving forward.

In the end, the Ravens secured a much-needed win after faltering in their previous game against the Steelers. The victory was a statement for John Harbaugh and the Ravens, as they look to make a push for the playoffs in a competitive AFC North division.
