The Ottawa Redblacks have made a significant addition to their coaching staff with the hiring of William Fields as their new defensive co-ordinator and secondary coach. Fields, who previously served as co-defensive co-ordinator with Kevin Eiben for the Grey Cup-champion Toronto Argonauts, brings a wealth of experience and success to the Redblacks.

During his time with the Argonauts, Fields played a pivotal role in helping the team secure two CFL championships in just three seasons. His expertise and leadership were instrumental in the team’s success on the field. Prior to his coaching career, Fields also had a successful playing career as a defensive back with the Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, winning his first Grey Cup with the Stampeders in 2001.

His reputation as one of the top defensive coaches in the league precedes him, making him a valuable addition to the Redblacks’ coaching staff.

Ottawa head coach Bob Dyce expressed his excitement about bringing Fields on board, highlighting his deep understanding of the game and his proven track record of success. Dyce emphasized Fields’ leadership qualities and coaching prowess, noting that he is a valuable asset to the team.
