Shooting in Canada leaves a dozen wounded, police say

A shooting incident occurred at a pub in Toronto, Canada on Friday, resulting in twelve people being wounded. The suspect is still at large as police continue their search for the individual responsible for the attack.

The shooting took place around 10:40 p.m. in the vicinity of Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive in eastern Toronto, near Scarborough Town Centre. Reports indicated that there was gunfire and an active shooting situation inside the pub, according to information provided by Toronto Fire Services.

Twelve individuals were injured in the shooting and were promptly taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Among the victims, four sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the severity of the injuries sustained by the remaining eight remains unclear.

The suspect, who was described as wearing a black balaclava mask, fled the scene in a silver car following the shooting, as reported by CBC.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow expressed her deep concern upon learning about the incident, stating that she had spoken with Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw, who assured her that all necessary resources had been mobilized to address the situation.

“This is an early and ongoing investigation – police will provide further details. My thoughts are with the victims and their families,” Mayor Chow stated.

The authorities are actively working to apprehend the suspect and bring them to justice. As the investigation progresses, more information will be released to the public.
